Professional Focus: Emmet Qualified as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with an honours degree in 2009 from the University of Dublin – Trinity College.
Emmet has experience working in Mental Health Nursing, General Children’s Nursing and Care of the Older Person; National Children’s Hospital, Cherry Orchard Hospital Dublin, Tallaght University Hospital, St. Loman’s Mental Health Services and St Patrick’s University Hospital Dublin and Dalkey Lodge Nursing Home caring for young people, adults and older persons with a range of general health and social care needs. Emmet held a position as Project Consultant in the development of a State of the Art Acute Inpatient Unit in Dublin prior to joining CareChoice in 2016 as an Assistant Director of Nursing at our Finglas home. Emmet has also completed a postgraduate higher diploma in Children’s nursing leading to registration as a Registered Sick Childrens Nurse, as well as a Master of Science in Mental Health in Trinity College Dublin. Emmet is currently undertaking a Master of Science in Healthcare Management at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.

She has a particular expertise in Dementia care and has facilitated the National 2- day Dementia programme, enhancing and enabling wellbeing for the person with dementia. Her goal is to lead the team at CareChoice Finglas to provide the highest quality of care to each individual resident, enhancing their quality of life and ensuring a person-centred approach throughout.

Simon gained experience over the years in these sectors and moved up through the management ladder. Simon previously worked in the Midlands as Nominee Provider for 14 centres with adults with intellectual disability. Simon has worked as a DON in nursing homes in south Dublin for the last 6 years.

Professional Focus: Andrew Joined the Marlay Nursing Home in January 2009. Prior to taking up his position he had many years’ experience in the NHS in all areas of psychiatric nursing including Acute and older persons nursing. Andrew managed a care home in the UK for the rehabilitation of people experiencing mental health issues. His ongoing interest in education resulted in him undertaking and gaining a Diploma of Professional Studies (DPSN). Andrew has achieved the Registered Managers Award in the UK.Furthermore in 2018 he successfully completed a Master of Science Dementia Studies course with the University of Stirling, Scotland.
Andrew continues with his interest in education and is a trainer in Best Practice in Dementia Care for Home Care staff and Senior MAPA instructor for the Marlay Nursing Home.
