St Brigid's Day at Macroom

The residents of CareChoice Macroom rediscovered old skills and made St Brigid crosses this week. Activity Leader Denise brought in rushes and we spent a very enjoyable afternoon twisting and turning them into the traditional cross
CareChoice Macroom gets into the party mood!

Residents at CareChoice Macroom celebrated Christmas with family and friends on Friday 1th December. Three different musicians provided entertainment including local Danny Golden. As well as gorgeous home made treats residents enjoyed dancing, chatting and singing Christmas carols.
Macroom residents meet the neighbours at the Auld Triangle

A group of residents from CareChoice Macroom recently visited the Auld Triangle to meet residents from the Cahereen Nursing Home.
We enjoyed an afternoon of music, song and great company!
The Gramaphone Society at the Briery Gap

CareChoice Macroom residents resumed their regular trips to the local Gramaphone Society on September 12th. They receieved a warm welcome and had a relaxing morning listening to the beautiful music. They also enjoyed the oopportunity to catch up with all the local news over coffee.
Pig on a Spit in Ballyvourney

Three residents from CareChoice Macroom recently attended the Pig on a Spit evening at the Mills in Ballynvourney. As well great barbeque food and a few drinks it was a wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends.
Damhsa Fest Carrigaline

Residents from CareChoice Macroom attended the recent Damhsa Fest at the Carrigaline Court Hotel.
The trip from Macroom proved very worthwhile - there was fabulous music, lively dancing and a few drinks to get us in the mood for both!
Afternoon tea with family and friends

The residents and staff invited family and friends for afternoon tea in CareChoice Macroom on Saturday 25th June. We had a traditional afternoon tea, complete with fine china and cake stands with the sounds of a classical piano playing in the backround.
It was a relaxed afternoon, lots of chatting and listening to beautiful music. A special thanks to the kitchen team who spoilt us with their homemade cakes!
Mobile Farm visits CareChoice Macroom

Last Thursday the courtyard of CareChoice Macroom was transformed into a farmyard with the visit of Mobile Farm Ireland to the Home. Residents met cows, pigs, geese, hens, a calf and two pet lambs. Despite the friendly nature of the larger animals the real showstoppers on the day were three little ducklings only five days old!
Also joining in the fun were pupils from nearby schools St Colemans and St. Josephs.
Afternoon tea at Griffins Garden Centre

Six residents from CareChoice Clonakilty took a trip to Griffin's Garden Centre for afternoon tea and to purchase some plants for the House.
We came home having enjoyed some gorgeous coffee cake and with great value pansies for the garden!
Siamsa Show to celebrate St Patrick's Day

Residents of all CareChoice Homes recently enjoyed the Siamsa Show presented by our old friends The Butterfly Theatre Company. There was traditional Irish dancing, beautiful singing and their rendition of 'When Irish Eyes Are Smiling' proved a real favourite.
