Managing Directors

Paul Kingston

Paul’s is a Chartered Accountant and has been running Nursing Homes since 1997. He and his wife Marnie (who was the Director of Nursing at Ballynoe for 10 years) purchased Ballynoe in 2001. In 2002 Paul lead the development company to purchase and renovate what was formerly ‘Little Sisters of the Poor’ to create Montenotte Care Centre. Paul is also involved with Nursing Home Ireland [NHI] the National Private Nursing Home’s representative body for many years which included holding the Director post for the southern region.

Since 2006 Paul’s focus, together with Aisling (Paul’s sister in law), has been creating the Carechoice Group. With many overseas Retirement Companies entrants in to the Irish market Paul believed that an Irish Family Owned & Operated Retirement Group with a proven track record was a crucial offering for the Irish market. Montenotte and Ballynoe were renamed at this point and merged to form the beginning of the Carechoice Group. Macroom, Dungarvan and Clonakilty have since been added to the Carechoice Group.

Aisling Lane

Aisling’s father, Michael Lane, started the business in 198? when he opened Ballynoe Nursing Home (now Carechoice Ballynoe). She has therefore been involved in the business since her teens. Aisling qualified as a Chartered Accountant and emigrated to Australia in 1995 for 12 years. In that time she gained extensive experience in General Manager / Director roles in diverse sectors including Telecommunications and Outsourcing.

Aisling returned in 2006 to partner with Paul (Aisling’s brother in law) to set-up an Irish Family owned & Operated Retirement Group. Montenotte and Ballynoe were renamed at this point and merged to form the beginning of the Carechoice Group. Macroom, Dungarvan and Clonakilty have since been added to the Carechoice Group.

Joanne Williams, Director of Nursing, Montenotte

R.G.N;. R.S.C.N; S.C.M; R.P.H.N.

Joanne holds a Diploma in Nursing Management and also a Higher Diploma in Healthcare Management. Joanne trained in General Nursing in the Bon Secours Hospital in Cork. She has over 25 years nursing experience including General Nursing, Sick Children’s Nursing, Midwifery, and Public Health Nursing. Joanne has worked for the Southern Health Board, / HSE south as Assistant Director of Public Health Nursing since 1992.

Joanne leads, supports and empowers the Nursing and Care team at Carechoice Montenotte to deliver a high quality of professional and personal care in a homely and friendly manner. The Care Choice Montenotte Nursing Vision is that each Resident and Family member is treated with Dignity, Respect and Fairness. Joanne’s commitment is to encourage everyone to maximise their potential and ‘be the best they can’.

Dorothy Nolan, RGN Director of Nursing, Ballynoe

Diploma in Health Services Management (Hons) [University of Limerick]

Dorothy has over 30 years experience in an extensive range of Nursing Disciplines including ICU, Coronary Care, ENT (head and neck), A&E, Surgical, Gynaecology, Medical/Geriatrics, Rheumatology and Dermatology.

Dorothy has the role Director of Nursing since 2002. Through dedication and experience Dorothy leads and supports the professional nursing team, care assistants and staff to deliver an excellent quality of individually planned nursing care to residents in a warm and caring environment and to ensure ongoing involvement of families is encouraged so that each resident is treated with the utmost dignity and respect.

Margaret Ciarcia S.R.N. Director of Nursing, Macroom

Margaret, who grew up and lives in Macroom, was appointed as Director of Nursing of CareChoice Macroom in May 2008. Margaret has over 30 years of experience and had worked as part of the senior nursing staff in CareChoice Macroom since 2001. Margaret has extensive qualifications in many aspects of nursing care but with a particular emphasis in Care of the Elderly.

Margaret leads a very experienced and professional team to deliver an excellent quality of individually planned care to residents in a warm and caring environment and to ensure ongoing involvement of families is encouraged.

Gill Nuttall SEN RGN BSc Hons, Director of Nursing, Dungarvan

Gill trained in General Nursing in England, she worked in the NHS acute services for 19 years, working through the ranks to management. Throughout this period she holds a wealth of knowledge and experience, specialising in; orthopaedic, general surgery, colorectal, vascular and ear, nose and throat.

Gill came to Ireland in 2002 and worked for the HSE South/East in a career change to Care of the Elderly. Gill joined the team at CareChoice in 2007 were she is leading, supporting and empowering the nursing and carers team in the delivering of high quality care in a homely and friendly atmosphere.

The CareChoice Dungarvan ethos is that each resident are treated with dignity, respect and fairness at all times. Gills commitment is to encourage all residents to reach their maximal potential and that their quality of life is meaningful to them.

Through further education and experience, Gill is committed to the ethos of best practice through evidence based research, and collaborates between all multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver person centred care to all her residents.

Clodagh Whelan , Director of Recreation

Clodagh holds a Certificate in Managing Health and Social Care and a FETAC Level Three Qualification in Dance Facilitation for Older People. She also holds a BCL Hons from University College Cork. At present she is finishing her first year of a Diploma in Social Gerontology in NUI Galway. Clodagh previously worked for the Cork based housing charity for older people, S.H.A.R.E., for six years.

Together with her team of internal Activity Leaders Clodagh works with residents, relatives, and staff and external activity providers at CareChoice, to develop a respectful, collaborative and fun approach to recreation . She is passionate in her belief that every older person has a right to be stimulated, entertained and explore their creativity and it is this passion that brings life to the CareChoice Recreation Programme.

Caroline Walsh MCIPD , HR Manager

Caroline is a Human Resource graduate, a chartered member of the Institute of Personnel and a member of the Irish Coaching Development Network. Joining CareChoice in 2007 from previous HR roles and with a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, Caroline is responsible for the HR function across the CareChoice group. A passion for training and development and Employee Resourcing, Caroline and is focused on ensuring the company’s policies and procedures are in line with best practice in the sector.

Hazel O'Connor A.C.A. A.I.T.I. , Senior Financial Accountant

Hazel is a qualified Chartered Accountant who joined CareChoice in Oct 2007 to head up the finance department for the group. Hazel graduated from University College Cork with a BA in Applied Psychology and a Higher Diploma in Business and Financial Information Systems. She then went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant and is also an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute.
