CareChoice Residents attend the West Cork Drama Festival

Residents from CareChoice Clonakilty attended the West Cork Drama Festival in Rossmore to see 'Same Old Moon' this week. It was an absorbing piece of theatre, wonderfully performed and proved to be a great evening's entertainment. Director of Nursing, Maureen O'Donovan also attended and said she especially enjoyed meeting members of the local community at this exciting community event.

The residents of CareChoice Clonakilty recently took a trip to the newly opened Meadows and Byrne. They enjoyed browsing and looking at the lovely homewares as well as a cup of coffee and a chance to catch up with friends.
Christmas craic at Clonakilty

Residents at CareChoice Clonakilty celebrated Christmas with family and friends on Sunday December 11th. Local musicians Lolo Googan and John Cullinane entertained and when we weren't singing along we were enjoying scrumptious home made treats from the kitchen.
Hot whiskies at O'Donovans Hotel

The Men's Group from CareChoice Clonakilty recently visited the bar in O'Donovans Hotel for a drink and a chat. Sitting around the open fire enjoying a hot whiskie the gentlemen decided to make O'Donovans their local!
CareChoice residents visit Dunmore

The Clonakilty residents have been making the most of the few fine days recently by becoming regulars at Dunmore House Hotel. The spectacular views from the outdoor terrace are very popular but it is the chocolate fudge cake that has us coming back for more!
Afternoon tea with family and friends

The residents and staff invited family and friends for afternoon tea in CareChoice Clonakilty on the 8th of July. We had a traditional afternoon tea, complete with fine china and cake stands with the sounds of classical piano from local musician John Cullinane in the backround. It was a relaxed afternoon, lots of chatting and listening to beautiful music. A special thanks to the kitchen team who spoilt us with their homemade cakes
Clonakilty Agricultural Show

Residents and staff paid a visit to the annual Clonakilty Show on Sunday June 12th. Despite a wet morning the weather held for the afternoon and the residents had a wonderful time. It was particularly lovely to catch up with old friends and enjoy a chat and a cup of tea.
Mobile Farm Ireland visits CareChoice Clonakilty

Last Wednesday the carpark of CareChoice Clonakilty was transformed into a farmyard with the visit of Mobile Farm Ireland to the Home. Residents met cows, pigs, geese, hens, a calf and two pet lambs. Despite the friendly nature of the larger animals the real showstoppers on the day were three little ducklings only four days old! Also joining in the fun were pupils from nearby National School Scoil na mBuachailli.
Trip to Inchadoney Hotel

Residents from CareChoice Clonkilty recently took a trip to Inchadoney Hotel for afternoon tea. Despite the overcast weather we were invigorated by the sea breeze, homemade fruitcake and fresh coffee!
Siamsa Show to celebrate St Patrick's Day

Residents of all CareChoice Homes recently enjoyed the Siamsa Show presented by our old friends The Butterfly Theatre Company. There was traditional Irish dancing, beautiful singing and their rendition of 'When Irish Eyes Are Smiling' proved a real favourite.
